    . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . personality.
Jeanne-Marie’s personality only recently changed when her Anomalous powers were discovered. Before she found out she was one of the Anomalies, she was a very prim and proper sort of girl. Being forced to attend the private school, the need to be perfect was practically hammered into her. She was a diligent student and a bit of a perfectionist. And, as the school was a reactionary religious school, she had a deep sense of religion. Along with that, Jeanne-Marie was extremely nervous and introverted and, a tad depressed. The other girls merely regarded her as the plain Jane, wallflower bookworm. She looked the part at the time, always having her hair pulled back and a pair of glasses settled on the bridge of her nose. She was a closed bud that was soon to bloom.

Upon discovering her powers and leaving the school for girls, Jeanne-Marie has slowly but surely become more extroverted. Being an Anomalous, though out of the ordinary, makes her feel more empowered than she did. Instead of shying away from others, she’s more open and less of the prim and proper bookworm she used to be. It’s mostly as if being different brings out all the character traits that were repressed earlier in her life. With this personality change has come a new look as well. She wears her hair out and has ditched the glasses for contacts. Her newfound confidence seems to radiate from her on good days. She’s taken an interest in fashion, hence her job at the boutique.

J-Marie’s former and more current personality are normally in a healthy balance, but sometimes one shows out more than the other. It doesn’t happen too often as she tried to maintain balance whenever she possibly can. Still, though, at times her personality switches can seem nearly bipolar. If things just aren't going her way, she could very well recede back into the safe and familiar shell of being reserved, shy and quiet. On the flip side, there are just days that she wakes up and feels like the world is laying at her feet. Like she can do anything that she wants. Those are the days that she'll wear something sexy and exude confidence. The balance is fragile and though such switches haven't happened in awhile, there is always the chance that something will be triggered and send her tipping one way or another.

    . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . talents.
mutation: Jeanne-Marie and Jean-Paul have very similar powers. If they link hands with one another, they emit a very powerful burst of light comparable to a lighthouse beacon. On her own, Jeanne-Marie can move at superhuman speed that, theoretically, can reach that of the speed of light. She’s unaware of this and hasn’t attempted to move at speeds that fast. Likely, the damage to her environment would be too great. The faster J-Marie moves, the more durable her body becomes. When it comes to her flight, everything about her speed remains the same. She’s better at flying longer distances going slightly slower than her fastest speed than flying as fast as possible. J-Marie also has a very fast reaction time and is stronger than other women in her age group.

Her powers were stumbled upon in a rather depressing manner. She and her brother had been separated in infancy. He was adopted first and she was left behind. No one seemed to want to adopt her, so she was shipped off to Madame DuPont’s School (a reactionary religious school) in LaVelle, Quebec. Jeanne-Marie was absolutely miserable there. Years went by and she went through the school system at Madame DuPont’s, becoming more and more depressed. Her adoptive parents showed no sign of letting her return from the school until she completely finished her education there. So, instead of trying to endure it longer, Jeanne-Marie got the rather drastic idea to commit suicide. In the middle of the night, the miserable girl climbed the various stairwells to reach the highest point of the school’s roof. Standing right on the edge, she turned to face the cross that stood proudly atop the school and said a prayer, asking God to allow her into heaven. With that, she threw herself from the ledge.

But Jeanne-Marie did not fall to her death. No, instead she began to fly through the air just a moment before she hit the ground, moving at supersonic speed and stopping only when she was about fifteen miles from the school. Her flight stopped suddenly then, and because she was only flying about 10 feet from the ground, she fell right by a roadside, unconscious. Eventually, someone came by in a car and helped her, driving her back to Madame DuPont’s. She tried to explain to the headmistress that she’d been saved by the grace of God. The headmistress, however, dismissed her as spouting blasphemy and had her severely disciplined. Her flying had awakened something in her though. She wasn’t going to take it anymore. So she left the school, and got a job in Montreal to scrape up some money. As soon as she’d gotten enough, J-Marie left for the first place her instincts told her. New York.

skills: Along with her education at the all girls’ school came rigorous ballet training that has gifted her with good balance and grace. However the dancing is something she doesn’t do much of anymore. Jeanne-Marie is fluent in French and English and can also speak a little bit of Italian and Spanish.

    . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . history.
The Beaubier twins were left alone in the world when their parents were killed in a car accident. Both were put up for adoption, but as it usually happens, the agency was unable to find one couple that wanted to take home both children. Jean-Paul was adopted first, going home with the Martin family and leaving Jeanne-Marie all alone. Though most would argue that she didn't notice the absence of her brother, she most certainly did. While in orphanage, she would often peer around, looking for that familiar face. She'd fuss and get upset for what the caretakers thought was no reason at all. But it was because her brother wasn't there to play with her or to hold her hand. Contrary to the adoption agency's hopes, no one wanted to adopt her. Family after family came through and went home with other children, showing no interest in Jeanne-Marie. This was a problem. If no one wanted her when she was an infant, then the chances that someone would want her when she grew older were slim.

For this reason, when Jeanne-Marie turned five, she was sent to be raised at Madame DuPont’s school for girls. It was a religious school that flaunted a warm and inviting atmosphere. It seemed that it would be a perfect place for a young girl to be brought up and educated. But upon arrival, young Jeanne-Marie wanted nothing more than to leave. Just the feeling of so many eyes on her unnerved her and made her very uncomfortable. Because the school ran from kindergarten to 12th grade, there were girls of various ages roaming the halls and the grounds of the school. And though there were a lot of girls in her age group there, they all seemed to look down at her rather than accepting her. The girl with no parents. This didn’t change much as she began her studies with the other girls.

Madame DuPont’s wanted to mold the girls there into healthy, religious young women to be released into the world. Diligence and perfectionism was practically forced on them, even as young girls. Jeanne-Marie took to these teachings as quickly as she could, wanting to blend in with all the other girls and not to displease her instructors. She was introverted and nervous all the time, earning only more taunts and teasing from the girls in her classes. They called her the quivering wallflower whose stem would snap in the gentlest breeze. Their words hurt her. With each stinging remark she would retreat even more into herself. She'd speak even less and the light in her eyes would fade even more. Almost as if her essence was being chipped away little by little. The horrible comments didn’t get any kinder as the years went by and neither did the horrible treatment from the girls in her classes. As time passed, Jeanne-Marie became more and more miserable until all she was was shy and depressed. Her studies were the only thing that brought her solace, however small it was. Still, it seemed to her that there was no end to her torture.

It was the beginning of her final year at the school when she decided she just couldn’t wait to the end. She’d make an end for herself.

The day went as usual. Jeanne-Marie was diligent in her work, staying quiet, but her thoughts were racing thinking about the decision she was making. Was it the right choice? In her mind, it was. Her faith in God gave her no reprieve from her horrible treatment. Her diligence in her work didn't save her. And she was not being rewarded for enduring her punishment. It wasn't making her a better person. So what reason was there not to leave this life behind to find some peace in death?

That night, when her roommate was asleep, Jeanne-Marie snuck out into the corridor, making her way up to the roof of the school and trying not to wake any of the other girls or any teachers who would stop her. Upon emerging, she went even higher, to the top of the belltower. She stood on the narrow ledge, hugging herself with tears in her eyes. She carefully turned to face the cross that loomed at the top of the belltower, clutching her cross and rosary in her hand. She sent up a prayer to the cloud-covered skies, hoping that her words would lift up to heaven. She wanted to be accepted into the divinity of heaven, even if she’d failed in this life. Upon saying 'Amen...', Jeanne-Marie threw herself from the ledge, awaiting her fate as she fell through the air and hurtled the large distance toward the ground.

But she did not die. No, just before she hit the ground, she was flying fast through the air, the wind blowing out her hair from her loose braid and nearly causing her to lose her glasses. It was a miracle, she thought, smiling as she flew through the air. A miracle from God.

Eventually, her flight ended near a roadside ten miles from her school. She fell to the ground, hitting her head and losing consciousness there in the snow. Someone driving by saw her and stopped by the roadside to make sure she was alright. It took a little while for her to come to, but Jeanne-Marie awoke rather confused, but seemingly alright. No real injuries. The woman who'd been in the car asked her where she'd come from and Jeanne-Marie told her, although with a bit of reluctance. She was quiet on the drive back to the school, but on the inside she was beaming with an exhileration she'd never felt before.

Once back at Madame DuPont's, she was excused from morning classes and ordered to the headmisstress' office. Jeanne-Marie tried desperately to describe the experience to the headmistress. To explain her absence that night. But the headmistress would have none of it. The old woman said she was merely being blasphemous. Jeanne-Marie was severely disciplined, but afterward, she felt different. More...empowered. She wasn’t going to put up with the school anymore. She left for Montreal without letting anyone know about her whereabouts. Thankfully, she wasn't pursued. Likely because the school had no care for the orphan girl who'd always given them trouble.

She got a job in the city to earn some money. Once she had enough, Jeanne-Marie decided to leave, buying a plane ticket for the first place her instincts told her. New York City.

    IV.
    MUTATION: ( photokinesis )
Should he link hands with Aurora (his sister, for the uneducated ones), they could generate a light equivalent to a lighthouse beacon (one million foot candles) by each sibling’s varying the rate of acceleration of his or her own molecules out of phase with those of the other’s. But, thats just a twin thing. He is at a limitiation with this.

    ( superhuman speed & flight )
JP possesses the ability to propel his body at superhuman speed, becoming a living projectile. Through an act of concentration, Northstar can channel a portion of the kinetic energy of the atomic motion in his body’s molecules in a single direction. This can accelerate his body in a velocity in direct proportions to the amount of kinetic energy he has tapped.

It was once theoretically possible for him to reach 99% of the speed of light (186, 272 miles per second in a vacuum), although he never traveled at anywhere near that speed since if he did, he would wreak great damage upon himself and his environment. Northstar can also move a portion of his body at superhuman speed at a time. If he does that, he can send out powerful concussive blasts that can do considerable damage. He can project these from his hands and out from his body in a series of concussive bursts.

With his flight, He can hover in mid-air Northstar applies thrust downward in a carefully controlled manner. When carrying another, unprotected human being aloft, Northstar does not move faster than 60 miles per hour in order that his "passenger" may be able to breathe easily (Northstar himself can breathe at somewhat higher rates due to training) and so that the "passenger" will not suffer harm from wind, friction, or air turbulence.
REGISTRATION CODE: He is not registered.
NATIONAL SECURITY THREAT LEVEL: MODERATELY HIGH!

SKILLS/TALENTS: Could be considered a top knotch skier, excellent writer, Speaks fluent French and has quite the arrange of aerial tactics.

    V.
PERSONALITY: Jean-Paul is not easy to get along with. He despises being stereotyped as a homosexual, but he more or less embodies the stereotypical Quebecois.

Snobby, passive-aggressive, and certainly proud, he often takes the role of devil's advocate both with his acquaintances and even those he meets at like, a Starbucks. He can be abrasive, difficult, and most certainly harsh, especially when it comes to passing judgment. A person who has wronged him once generally won't get the opportunity to do it again. He has a commanding presence and internal power that often seems to believe his tough exterior, but to the general public, that power is fairly inaccessible.

All this having been said, Jean-Paul is an incredibly good person. He is capable of being deeply affected by something, and all of his single-minded devotion and passion have been turned towards those whom love him, dearly. He would sacrifice his life for any one of them. He also tries to avoid violence if possible, pessimistic towards the views of those whom believe that such is the answer.

JP does not show affection publicly, and often is one of those people whom seem to have dual personalities in and out of the public eye. Tending to share his most intimate tendencies behind closed doors ( this does not include intercourse, but eating, etc. )
IMMEDIATE FAMILY: Jeanne-Marie Beaubier ( only biological relative known ), numerous other siblings through the foster care services.
HISTORY: Jean-Paul and Jean-Marie Beaubier's parents were killed in a car accident when the twins were just infants. They were put up for adoption, but as it usually happens, the agency was unable to find one set of parents who were willing to take home both children. Jean-Paul, however lucky he may seem, was adopted first, by the Bontecou Family. He was a difficult child with few friends, and his complex psychological tangles coupled with regular teenage rebellion. He strayed from the average likes, or dislikes many children have -- eventually growing fond of the sport -- skiing.

He found solace in the sport, ever since he was a child he loved to go out with his respected father, even though it was his step .. and just have a ball. It was this that taught many things to JP, such as maintaining the the right frame of mind, courage and the will to go out there and wing it. Lessons which would later be applied to himself, within years to come.

When Jean-Paul was twelve, however, his foster parents were killed in a plane crash, which they took a private jet to go on their 27th anniversary, over the pacific ocean they began to plummet, and were later found to be dead. JP was, as any child was, devistated.

It was the simple fact that he excelled rather well, that he was then taken in by the Raquinne family, whom lived in Aspen, Colorado. A whole new area, a whole new country. JP found things to be much more appreciative, especially that of James Raquinne, his new foster father, whom worked at a ski lodge, nestled on Mount Shasta. Jean Paul spent his many weekends up there, practicing and running the courses, and making a few friends whom also supported his love for such sports. As he grew older, he found himself winning many of the local competitions, and even moreso -- the attraction of those whom lived in their city. Jean Paul, however, being gay yet not open about it, tended to only apply the females as friends, which he played off as girlfriends to his strict, catholic foster parents.

However, one cannot forget that fateful day which changed his life forever. Jean Paul was racing down the new powder with extroadinary speed. Unfortunately, he didn't heed the words of his parents whom deeply detested the fact he went out and did such in the evening. It would later seem to bite him on the rear, as they definitely were right. Not even fourty five minutes later, he missed the clearing to be a ledge, which had atleast a sixteen feet drop into the wilderness. Passing the fence which divided off the areas, He later found himself smacked against a tree. However, he did not stop -- rearing his chest foreward he attempted to push himself up and managed to do so, sliding against the bark -- in flight. However, flying at supersonic levels and being a first timer was harsh, and he soon found hismelf crashed infront of the lodge, being bombarded by falling, fresh snow. But, being knocked unconscious throughout the whole endeavor made matters worse.

It was Xavier, on a slight vacation to rid himself of negative thoughts that found Jean-Paul a few minutes later, having witnessed his accident. Revealing his abilities, and sharing the fact he was a mutant, who had powers too, It was a hard thing to handle. However, just as hard as it was, JP soon accepted it for what it was.

Xavier confronted JP's foster parents, who were in quite the shock. Their son was a mutant? Well, not their biological son -- but their child none the less. With Xavier expressing how he'd need to train them, and control them it just made sense for them to allow him to leave their cozy home, to the Institute in Westchester.

Things were great for a while, until the events of Stryker. Jean-Paul, growing to believe that humans were not taking their blessing, and in fact blaming the mutant population for ruining them, JP soon left. He left abruptly, fighting off students to leave. Clearly, things were not right in the world.

Leaving the school, Northstar found comfort in maintaining his beliefs at the hands of Erik Lehnsherr, whom welcomed the male. Erik was glad, in the belief mutants were finally realizing their purpose.
